The Kentucky Outdoordeken All Weather Classic is a lightweight, waterproof and breathable turnout rug in 600 denier ripstop polyester. It is intended for daily use in the paddock or field, for horses and ponies. At Maddelin you choose between 0 g, 50 g and 150 g fill, so one model can cover spring, autumn and a mild winter.
About this turnout rug
The Classic is the lightest model of the Kentucky All Weather rugs at Maddelin. The outer fabric is 600 denier ripstop polyester. Ripstop is a weave with reinforced threads that stop a small tear from spreading; Kentucky describes the fabric as highly tear-resistant. A breathable, waterproof coating keeps rain out and makes the fabric dirt-repellent. The rug has no spine seam, so there is no seam along the back where water could get in.
Inside is a smooth 210T polyester lining. According to Kentucky it does not hold odours and hair does not cling to it, which makes care easier. The 50 g and 150 g versions have a PES fibrefill, a polyester fill that forms an insulating layer. The 0 g version has no fill and serves as a turnout sheet.
At the front you close it with Velcro and 2 metal front closures, under the belly there are 2 surcingles and at the back a detachable tail cord. When it gets colder, Kentucky states that you can combine the Classic with an under rug. A detachable neck cover, the Neck All Weather Waterproof Classic, is available separately in the Kentucky range.
